Agribition

The 2010 season begins on Victoria Day Weekend, Saturday May 22, and runs though to and includes Labour Day, September 5. The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week. As well as the day-to-day visiting of the museum, many special events will be happening at Heritage Village in the Hastings County Building this summer. Please call if you would like to visit after Labour Day weekend.

 

Coming Events for 2010

April 23, Friday - Spring Clean Up Day , 8 a.m. Ladies please bring sandwiches, cookies or squares or pickles. This is a morning of dusting, cleaning, racking and cleaning up. Please bring you rubber gloves, dusters and brooms.

May 1, Saturday - Stirling Flea Market.

May 13, Thursday, Bayside Secondary School visit

May 22, Saturday - Opening Day.

May 29, Saturday - Wedding at Heritage Village.

June 6, Sunday - Stirling Festival Theatre Volunteer Appreciation in Heritage Village.

June 10, Thursday - Wells Ford Stirling 75th Anniversary Celebration.

June 19 and June 20 - Stirling Truck Show.

June 27, Sunday - Fifth Annual Strawberry Social. Enjoy locally-grown strawberries and sit back and enjoy the music of Kelli Trottier and the Mushy Peas. Kelli Trottier is an acclaimed Canadian fiddler, step dancer and singer. The band members are Andrew Affleck, Burke Carroll, Jerry 'Dirt' Clancy, and Andy Thompson.

July 15, Bus Tour

July 24, Saturday - a 50th Anniversary Celebration in Heritage Village.

July 28 - Hastings County Holstein Club Twilight Social at 6 p.m. The meal is provided by "BBQ on Wheels". Tickets include a tour of the museum. There will be live auction and a 50/50 draw.

August 12 -14, Stirling Fair - Thursday, August 12, Friday, August 13, Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15. The museum is open as usual from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with last entry at 3 p.m. Entry is free during the fair, but donations are welcome.

August 18, Wednesday and August 19, Thurday - Hastings County Farm Show and Plowing Match The host farm family Robert and April Jarrell and family welcome you to the show. The site is located on the Robinson Farm on Blessington Road Wednesday,

August 26 - 7:30 p.m. Wine and cheese reception followed by "Railroad Ties: Life and Death and the CPR" Original One-man play written and directed by Richard Turtle.

August 28, Saturday - Wedding reception and dance at Heritage Village

September 5, Labour Day - closed for day to day visiting. Please call ahead it you would like to visit the museum.

September 12, Sunday - NEW Grandparents Day . Bring your grandchildren and explore the museum together. Petting zoo, steam engine rides, games, displays, Name the Cow and the Circle of Friends. A fun-filled day and an opportunity to reflect on the past and share the future with youth. Bring along your grandparents, your grandchildren, your nephews and nieces. All are welcome.

September 18, Saturday - Wedding at Heritage Village,

September 19, Sunday - The Quinte Agricultural Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place in Heritage Village at 2 p.m.. This is followed by the annual Volunteer Appreciation Evening.

October 6 and October 7 - Agribition is when grade four students come to the museum,

October 16, Saturday - Lions Club of Stirling 30th Anniversary Party.

Thursday, November 25 - Annual Starlite House Tour featuring six homes decorated for Christmas. Please call the museum to have your name put on a WAITING LIST for tickets - don't be disappointed. List of homes wil be published onour website at at later date. (613) 395-0015.
